Istanbul is famous for its impressive domes, for its rich and diverse art history. We can easily recognize the architecture on the doors or windows at most domes in Istanbul. Inspired by that, I incorporated the mosque floor plan with Islamic pattern.

This concept was inspired by Shahmaran - a mythical half-woman and half-snake figure. The complexity in Shahmaran mythical form, moral narrative, and symbolic richness, much like Istanbul, which is a melting pot of diverse cultures and traditions.

Istanbul is often referred to “Catstanbul”, cats are deeply integrated into Istanbul’s culture and locals’ daily life. I decided to add ‘Turkish taste’ to the cat by blending the Ottoman design into the cat symbol which could elevate the logo.
